The 2024 Energy Taiwan Expo concluded on Sunday, October 6. This year’s event featured five major themes: "Net-Zero Sustainability," "Solar Photovoltaics," "Wind Power," "Energy Storage Applications," and "Diverse Energy Generation." The exhibition expanded by 30% compared to last year, with over 1,600 booths, setting a new record.
Taiwan Perovskite Solar Corp. (TPSC), along with AIZ (Artificer Intelligence Zero emission), KYO, 5could, Mega Sunergy, WE CHENG, BestPower, Double Fish, and the Taiwan Perovskite R&D and Industry Alliance (TPRIA), co-exhibited at the event. Visitors at their booth could experience a comprehensive tour and hands-on demonstrations of the "Four Energies in Harmony" concept: generation, storage, efficiency, and intelligence—all under one roof, a rarity among exhibitors. TPSC and its partners saw significant results, including the following:
No. 1: Showcasing "Advancing Four Concepts in Unison"—Generation, Storage, Efficiency, and Intelligence
At the 2024 Energy Taiwan Expo, TPSC and its partners showcased the "Advancing Four Concepts in Unison" approach, which integrates energy generation, storage, efficiency, and intelligence. Through interactive displays and real-world applications, attendees gained a deep understanding of how these four capabilities combine to create more efficient energy management solutions.
Energy Generation: The latest renewable energy technologies were on display, including the Textured Series perovskite solar cells, energy-generating windows and doors, and perovskite building material modules. High-efficiency and micro-modules in silicon solar technology were also featured.
Energy Storage: EV charging stations and energy management systems were exhibited, showcasing how solar energy and storage can reduce carbon emissions in everyday life and transportation.
Energy Efficiency: High-efficiency solar inverters and carbon-smart solutions took center stage. These inverters can dynamically track efficiency, effectively converting solar energy into electricity while enabling surplus energy to be sold back to the grid. 5 cloud demonstrated its decarbonization services, helping companies reduce their carbon footprints and move toward net-zero goals.
Intelligence: AIoT applications, such as the perovskite smart house, self-powered electronic desk labels, perovskite solar-powered car systems, and AI Window Zero, highlighted the excellent performance of perovskite cells in low-light environments. Their lightweight, portable design also allows for flexible usage across various settings.
No. 2: Record-Breaking Attendance
The 2024 Energy Taiwan Expo saw a record-breaking number of visitors, with more than 600 attendees during the three-day event. The expo attracted not only energy industry professionals but also scholars, students, international media, and business representatives from countries like Japan, Germany, Australia, Indonesia, Turkey, and Ukraine. This diverse audience reflected the growing interest in renewable energy across different sectors.
No. 3: Debut of the Perovskite-Silicon Tandem Solar Cell
At this year’s expo, TPSC debuted its perovskite-silicon tandem solar cell technology for the first time, marking a significant breakthrough in Taiwan’s third-generation solar cell development. This innovative technology combines the transparency of perovskite materials with the mature technology of silicon cells, offering high-efficiency solutions for rooftops, electric vehicle canopies, ground installations, and other applications that require high-performance energy solutions. This breakthrough opens up new possibilities for Taiwan’s energy transition.
No. 4: 「AIZ」 Brand Launched—Targeting the Energy-Generating Building Materials Market
During the 2024 Energy Taiwan , TPSC and Golden Artisan Technology jointly launched the "AIZ" brand (Artificer Intelligence Zero emission), aimed at promoting innovative building material solutions to help Taiwan reach its net-zero carbon emission goals. As global demand for low-carbon buildings increases, AIZ is poised to become a key player in the market, attracting further corporate collaborations to develop green building solutions.
In addition to launching the new brand, the booth featured exhibits of perovskite solar cell doors, windows, and structural components, giving visitors a closer look at how these materials not only generate electricity but also offer superior insulation, wind resistance, waterproofing, and noise reduction.
No. 5: PV Technology Forum —Focusing on Third-Generation Solar Technology
On the first day of the expo, TPSC Chairman LJ Chen was invited to speak at thePV Technology Forum , where he presented on the topic "The Rising Third-Generation Solar Race." He shared the latest research and future developments in the perovskite solar field. The forum gathered industry experts and scholars to discuss how Taiwan’s photovoltaic industry can regain its competitive edge through next-generation technologies and win the global energy transition race.
No. 6: Signing of Taiwan-Japan Transnational Cooperation Agreement with Moresco and HAI LU JYA HE
TPSC signed a transnational cooperation agreement with industrial lubricant supplier HAI LU JYA HE and Japan’s MORESCO. The three parties aim to deepen collaboration in the development of perovskite solar cell encapsulation materials, enhancing both encapsulation technology and quality. This partnership will help accelerate the commercialization of perovskite solar technology.
No. 7: Visits from Minister of Environment and Presidential Senior Advisor Highlight Perovskite Solar’s Diverse Applications
During the exhibition, Minister of Environment Peng Chi-Ming and Senior Presidential Advisor (and former Minister of Economic Affairs) Shen Jong-Chin visited the joint booth to learn about breakthroughs in perovskite-silicon tandem solar technology and its large-scale applications in building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) and agrivoltaics. Both officials praised the potential of perovskite solar technology to balance sustainability and energy self-sufficiency, encouraging domestic companies to accelerate the development of independent technologies and positioning Taiwan as a global leader in green energy technology.
