TPSC, HAI LU JYA HE, and MORESCO Sign Agreement, Marking a Milestone in Taiwan-Japan Transnational Cooperation in the Perovskite Solar Industry

The 2024 Energy Taiwan exhibition has officially launched, highlighting the theme of "Smart Energy and Sustainable Development." This event aims to promote the application of green technologies and facilitate deeper discussions around future energy solutions. On the morning of October 3, Taiwan Perovskite Solar Corp., HAI LU JYA HE Co., Ltd., and Japan’s MORESCO signed a collaborative agreement during the exhibition. This partnership seeks to enhance technical cooperation in the field of perovskite solar cells and encapsulation materials, accelerating the commercialization of perovskite technology and advancing the global energy transition.

Taiwan’s perovskite solar industry has been making headlines recently. United Renewable Energy Co., Ltd. (URE), a key member of the Taiwan Perovskite Research and Industry Association (TPRIA), showcased its large-format perovskite silicon tandem TOPCon solar modules at Energy Taiwan. As a leading player in Taiwan's solar energy sector, URE has long been a pioneer in silicon solar technology and continues to drive innovation. In recent years, the company has actively invested in the research and application of perovskite technology, underscoring its commitment to making this emerging technology a core part of its future strategy.


Encapsulation technology plays a crucial role in ensuring the long-term stability, durability, and commercial viability of perovskite/silicon tandem solar cells. As innovations in perovskite/silicon tandem technology continue, advancements in encapsulation techniques will address the stability challenges of perovskite materials, paving the way for the commercialization of high-efficiency solar cells. The partnership agreement signed by Taiwan Perovskite Solar Corp., HAI LU JYA HE, and MORESCO at the 2024 Energy Taiwan exhibition represents a significant step forward in the commercialization of perovskite/silicon tandem solar cells.


Taiwan Perovskite Solar Corp., founded in March 2021, is a leading company focused on the R&D and application of perovskite solar cells. The company has rapidly positioned itself as a leader in Taiwan's perovskite industry. In 2023, it successfully developed high-efficiency, flexible A4-sized perovskite solar cells through its Mercury I line. With the completion of its Mercury II pilot production line in 2024, the company is preparing for large-scale production and continues to participate in global exhibitions and forums to promote the commercialization of its technologies. Currently, Taiwan Perovskite Solar Corp. is engaged in various perovskite solar cell development projects and is actively collaborating with partners across industries to further accelerate commercialization.


MORESCO Corporation, founded in 1958 and based in Kobe, Japan, is a chemical company specializing in interface science. MORESCO develops and produces high-performance chemicals such as lubricants, adhesives, and sealing materials for industries including automotive, electronics, semiconductors, construction, and industrial equipment. MORESCO has gained global recognition for its innovative technology and high-quality products, particularly in the fields of fire-resistant hydraulic fluids, die-cast lubricants, and high-vacuum pump oils. In recent years, the company has expanded into sustainable development sectors, including perovskite solar cell sealing materials, and remains committed to reducing carbon emissions and promoting a circular economy. MORESCO is publicly traded on the Tokyo Stock Exchange (stock code: 5018) and is a member of Japan’s perovskite research consortium led by Professor Tsutomu Miyasaka from Toin University in Yokohama. The consortium aims to commercialize perovskite solar cells by 2026, with MORESCO contributing high-performance sealing materials critical for protecting perovskite solar cells from environmental factors such as moisture and oxygen.

日本松村石油(MORESCO)株式會社成立於1958年,是一家專注於界面科學的日本化工企業,總部位於兵庫縣神戶市。公司主要開發和生產潤滑劑、粘合劑、密封材料等高性能化學產品,這些產品廣泛應用於汽車、電子、半導體、建築及工業設備領域。MORESCO以其創新技術和高品質產品著稱,尤其是在防火液壓油、壓鑄潤滑劑、高真空泵油等產品上佔有全球市場的領先地位。近年來,MORESCO積極推動可持續發展,進入包括鈣鈦礦太陽能電池密封材料和生物材料等新興領域,並致力於減少碳排放和促進循環經濟。MORESCO目前在東京證券交易所上市(股票代號:5018),近期MORESCO加入日本鈣鈦礦相關聯盟,該聯盟由橫濱市桐蔭大學的宮阪力教授領導,目標是在2026年之前實現鈣鈦礦太陽能電池的商業化


HAI LU JYA HE Co., Ltd., founded in 1982, is a Taiwanese company specializing in the production and sales of industrial lubricants, particularly focusing on simplifying the management of cutting oils. As the exclusive distributor of MORESCO products in Taiwan and a member of TPRIA, HAI LU JYA HE leverages its extensive resources in the local market to promote MORESCO's products while expanding into the new energy sector. At the signing ceremony, Chen Lai-chu, Chairman of Taiwan Perovskite Solar Corp., and Tseng Huan-lung, General Manager of HAI LU JYA HE, highlighted the significance of this partnership as a major milestone for both the Taiwan-Japan perovskite alliance and the global perovskite market. Chen stated that this collaboration integrates resources from the perovskite alliance and marks the first cross-border cooperation between Taiwan and Japan. He expressed optimism about working with HAI LU JYA HE and MORESCO to advance perovskite technology and drive the global energy transition. Tseng emphasized that this three-party collaboration marks a pivotal moment in HAI LU JYA HE’s transition to the new energy sector and that the company will use its expertise and resources in materials to accelerate commercialization of perovskite technologies.

Chairman LJ Chen of Taiwan Perovskite Solar Corp. and General Manager Tseng Huan-Long of HAI LU JYA HE jointly attended the signing ceremony. Chen remarked that this collaboration represents a strategic integration of resources within the Perovskite Alliance and marks the first cross-national cooperation between Taiwanese and Japanese alliance members. He expressed optimism about working with HAI LU JYA HE and MORESCO to advance perovskite technology and jointly drive the global energy transition. Tseng Huan-Long emphasized that this tripartite collaboration is a significant milestone in HAI LU JYA HE's transformation into the new energy sector. Leveraging the company’s years of knowledge and resources in material science, HAI LU JYA HE aims to accelerate the commercialization of perovskite technology. The signing ceremony not only marks a crucial step forward in the collaboration between the three companies in the fields of perovskite solar cells and encapsulation materials but also symbolizes the establishment of a communication channel among members of the Taiwan-Japan Perovskite Alliance to promote sustainable development in the renewable energy sector.



The signing of this cooperation agreement between the three companies not only highlights the limitless potential of perovskite technology in the solar industry, but also signifies the growing trend of collaboration across industries. In the face of fierce competition in the global renewable energy market, individual efforts are no longer enough to stand out. By forming industrial alliances and integrating technologies across fields and companies, it becomes possible to secure a leading position in the market. The entry of United Renewable Energy (URE) into the perovskite solar sector demonstrates that Taiwan’s solar industry members are beginning to collaborate closely, driving perovskite technology to become a significant emerging player in the global renewable energy industry. Together, they are poised to meet the challenges of the global energy transition.

The Taiwan Perovskite Research and Industry Association (TPRIA) is one of four global perovskite research and industry alliances dedicated to advancing research, development, and application of perovskite solar technologies. The association’s main goal is to promote commercialization of these technologies while building a comprehensive industry ecosystem by leveraging combined strengths from academia, industry, and research institutions. With over 80 experts from academia, industry, and research institutions as members, TPRIA accelerates development particularly related to renewable energy initiatives aimed at achieving net-zero emissions. TPRIA actively hosts technical forums and international exchange events providing members with platforms for technical discussions as well as market trend analysis.
