As a pioneer in the commercialization of perovskite technology in Taiwan, Taiwan Perovskite Technology (TPSC)  is honored to serve as co-organizer in the  [6th Taiwan Perovskite Technology and Application Forum] . This forum, set to take place on Friday, July 24 in Tainan, marks not only a change of venue but also a “crucial breakthrough” for Taiwan in the global energy arena.

The highlight of this forum was undoubtedly the session with the Research Center for Critical Issues (RCCI) . This signifies that perovskite has officially been elevated from a new material being explored in laboratories to a new level of "national energy strategy development."


The "Next-Generation Solar Cell Research Project," "Next-Generation Solar Cell Research Project" , aims to develop manufacturing processes for high-efficiency perovskite/silicon tandem solar cells. By utilizing a tandem cell structure that combines two solar cells operating in different wavelength bands, the project seeks to overcome the theoretical limits of single-junction solar cells. The primary objective of this initiative is to address the challenge of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.While Academia Sinica provides cutting-edge scientific breakthroughs, Taiwan Perovskite Technology is dedicated to transforming these high-barrier technologies into mass-producible industrial capabilities. This model—where national-level research institutions lead and enterprises implement— is accelerating Taiwan’s efforts to secure a central position in the global perovskite supply chain.

Four Core Applications: A Closer Look at the Four Key Areas Where Perovskite Is Changing the World

Rather than engaging in theoretical discussions, the forum will focus on four areas with significant commercial potential—areas that represent key technological inflection points closely monitored by TAI-CAL:

  • 🏢  Building-Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV): The Power-Generating Shell of Smart Cities  Traditional silicon panels struggle to blend with architectural aesthetics, but perovskite panels—with their lightweight, thin, translucent, and color-adjustable properties—can transform every curtain wall into a power plant. This not only addresses the challenge of limited space for power generation in urban areas but also transforms buildings from “energy consumers” into “energy production hubs.”

  • 🚀  Space Energy Applications: Power Supply in Extreme Environments  As AI and the space industry advance, satellites require higher-density energy sources. The forum will explore how perovskite can maintain high-efficiency operation in the space environment, characterized by extreme temperature fluctuations and intense radiation—a new opportunity for Taiwan’s aerospace industry.

  • 🔬  X-Ray Sensing Technology: Bridging Healthcare and Industrial Monitoring  The high sensitivity of perovskites makes them suitable not only for power generation but also for sensing technology. Through discussions at the forum, we will explore how this technology can significantly enhance the accuracy and safety of X-ray diagnostics, demonstrating the boundless possibilities of materials science.

  • 🌐  Self-Powered IoT Systems: The Heart of Ambient AI  In the era of the "Internet of Everything," replacing sensor batteries represents a significant maintenance cost. The Taiwan Perovskite Technology and Applications Forum is now in its sixth year; in the past, the forum was typically held in northern Taiwan. This year, the forum is being held in southern Taiwan for the first time, at the International Conference Hall at the Academia Sinica Southern Campus .
