The eleventh edition of the IAPS AWARD CEREMONY was successfully held on the evening of December 30th at Songshan Cultural and Creative Park. After rigorous evaluation by the judging committee, six outstanding companies were selected for recognition in various fields such as perovskite solar applications, artificial intelligence, LNG transportation, data analysis, and plastic injection molding. This award ceremony attracted many industry experts, academic leaders, and government representatives who witnessed how these outstanding teams can leverage IAPS’s innovative resources to accelerate international strategic cooperation and enhance Taiwan’s influence in the global creative ecosystem.

It takes ten years to forge a sharp sword. IAPS helps thousands of startups achieve success.

Since its establishment in 2013, IAPS (Industry Acceleration and Patent Development Strategy Center) has been committed to promoting the development of emerging industries. As the first entrepreneurship accelerator in the country established by academics, IAPS operates under the core concept of “collaboration between industry and academia”. It has guided over 1,000 emerging enterprises, successfully facilitating numerous international collaborations and fundraising efforts. Huang Jingyao, Director of the National Yangming Transportation University’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Department and Director of IAPS, shared that IAPS this year guided 150 emerging enterprises, raising a total of 780 million Taiwan dollars in funds. The newly selected enterprise emerged victorious from fierce competition, achieving remarkable commercial success and opening up a new era for Taiwan’s AI-related startups.

Taiwan's first company specializing in third-generation solar energy technology

As the first company in Taiwan to focus on solar energy technology related to perovsktie minerals, TPSC is committed to developing third-generation solar energy technologies. The material made of perovskite, with its versatile applications, has changed people's perception of renewable energy sources. TPSC is leading Taiwan towards a new era of energy transformation.

The award ceremony was presided over by Chairman Chen Laizhu, who said, “The technology of perovskite is a trend in the development of future energy sources. It represents an important opportunity that Taiwan’s industry must seize. Compared to international markets’ heavy investment in capital-intensive solar energy technologies, Taiwan Perovksite Solar Corp. relies on innovative teams to focus on meeting consumer needs and developing practical applications. This approach creates a business model that is completely different from traditional solar energy industries.”

A collaborative ecosystem between industry and academia helps emerging startups to achieve energy transformation

IAPS is not just a platform for nurturing startups, but also a community where industry and academia work together to create innovative solutions. Over the past few years, IAPS has witnessed the rise of innovative teams like TAC in fields such as energy and technology. The continuous spirit of innovation and the courage to face challenges head-on are the greatest strengths of Taiwan as a technology-driven island. In the future, IAPS will continue to provide support for new startup teams, so that the innovative ideas from Taiwan can be recognized by the world.

As the transition to renewable energy becomes a global focus, TPSC will continue to work alongside IAPS. Over the next decade, we aim to outline new strategies for renewable energy in Taiwan, thereby contributing significantly to the country's energy independence and sustainable development.
